Inter stars aim for more success in 2025
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez and midfielder Nicolo Barella have expressed their ambitions for the team to build on recent successes and win more trophies in 2025. The comments came after Inter’s convincing 3-0 victory over Cagliari in Serie A.
Martinez, who ended his two-month goal drought in the match, emphasized that the team’s success is the top priority. “The most important thing is that Inter wins. If I score too, that’s a bonus,” he stated. “We work hard every day to bring trophies to Inter. Our goal is to make 2025 as successful as 2024.”
Barella, who provided two assists in the game, highlighted the team’s progress under their current coach. “We have improved significantly thanks to the coach’s guidance,” he noted. “This squad is incredible, with everyone working towards the same goals.”
The win puts Inter temporarily joint top of the Serie A table with Atalanta. The team will face Atalanta in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final on January 2nd. Barella commented on the upcoming match: “It will be a great game. Atalanta have improved this season, but our objective is to win every game regardless of the opponent.”
Inter’s recent form has been impressive, with five consecutive away victories in Serie A without conceding a goal – a feat not achieved by the club since the 1966-67 season. As they head into 2025, Martinez, Barella, and their teammates are clearly focused on maintaining this momentum and adding to Inter’s trophy cabinet.
