Inter Milan CEO Marotta Shares Insights on Serie A Title Race
Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Inter Milan, recently shared his thoughts on the current Serie A season and the race for the championship title. Speaking at a sports awards event, Marotta reflected on his career in football management before delving into the topic of this year’s Scudetto contenders.
Marotta expressed pride in his role at Inter Milan, stating, “It’s an honor to be a CEO, especially at Inter. My journey began at Atalanta, then Sampdoria, and now I’m at top clubs like Juventus and Inter.”
Regarding Atalanta’s performance, Marotta was full of praise: “Atalanta is a global example of a successful model. They’ve developed a winning mentality, which is no small feat. They’ll face pressure during the season, but they know how to handle it. They’re like hares, and we’re the hunters. Atalanta will be among the main contenders for the Scudetto.”
On Inter Milan’s coach Simone Inzaghi, Marotta commented, “Simone understands locker room dynamics from his playing days. That’s an advantage, but it’s not the main reason for his success. He’s now among the best coaches, having improved in all aspects. He was good before, but he’s become excellent now.”
Marotta also touched on Antonio Conte’s abilities, noting, “He’s won a lot and is a very skilled professional. Like Inzaghi and Gasperini, he lives and breathes football. While the coach is crucial, there’s always a great club behind a great team… Atalanta is a prime example of this.”
