Inter Assistant Coach Farris Comments on Team’s Performance and Future Prospects
Following Inter’s victory against Empoli, Massimiliano Farris, deputizing for the suspended head coach Simone Inzaghi, shared his thoughts with the media. Farris emphasized the importance of maintaining the team’s composure and adapting to Empoli’s tactics.
“We anticipated a more aggressive approach from Empoli,” Farris explained. “Our strategy was to work the flanks and maintain quick ball movement. This approach ultimately led to our star striker breaking the deadlock, showcasing his exceptional skills once again.”
Addressing the team’s position in the league table, Farris commented, “We’re focused on our immediate challenges, with our next match in Prague. The team has scored an impressive 55 goals, and we’re aiming to secure a favorable position in the Champions League.” He also praised Kristjan Asllani for his resilience and performance at the demanding San Siro stadium.
When questioned about Mehdi Taremi, Farris acknowledged, “While we’re missing his goal contributions numerically, his tactical impact is significant. He’s on the verge of a breakthrough, and we’re confident it will come soon, hopefully in a home match at San Siro.”
Farris concluded by touching on his role in Inzaghi’s absence: “Simone’s presence is always missed, but I’m pleased to contribute from a slightly different position on the sideline.”
