Golden Boy 2024: Lamine Yamal Crowned as Europe’s Top Young Talent
The 2024 Golden Boy award, recognizing Europe’s most promising young footballer, has been bestowed upon Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. The prestigious accolade, established by Italian sports publication Tuttosport, is determined by a panel of esteemed European football experts.
At a gala event held at Turin’s International Automobile Museum, several other rising stars were also honored. Juventus and Turkey international Kenan Yildiz secured the Golden Boy Web award, as voted by fans. Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode was named the Best Italian Golden Boy, while Roma’s Giulia Dragoni took home the Golden Best Italian Woman title.
The Golden Boy award has a storied history, with past recipients including football luminaries such as Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, and Kylian Mbappé. The inaugural award in 2003 went to Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.
