Genoa Sets €18M Minimum Price for Milan Target Frendrup

Genoa has established a minimum asking price of €18 million for their midfielder Morten Frendrup, who has attracted interest from AC Milan ahead of the January transfer window. However, the Rossoneri face competition from Premier League side Brentford for the Danish player’s signature.

According to recent reports, Genoa is reluctant to part ways with Frendrup in January unless their valuation is met. The Italian club would prefer to retain the 23-year-old until the summer transfer window if possible.

Brentford, managed by Frendrup’s compatriot Thomas Frank, has also expressed interest in acquiring the midfielder’s services.

Milan’s Midfield Reinforcement Plans

AC Milan’s pursuit of Frendrup stems from their need to strengthen their midfield options. While Tijjani Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana have performed well this season, manager Paulo Fonseca has had limited opportunities to rest them due to a lack of alternatives.

With Ismael Bennacer sidelined by injury and Ruben Loftus-Cheek often deployed in a more advanced role, Milan is keen to add depth to their central midfield. Frendrup’s potential arrival could provide much-needed rotation options for the Rossoneri.

As the January transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Milan or Brentford will meet Genoa’s asking price for Frendrup, or if the talented midfielder will remain with the Grifone until the summer.
