Friedkins Choose Marzio Perrelli as Roma’s New Chief Executive Officer
AS Roma’s ownership has concluded their search for a new CEO, selecting Marzio Perrelli to fill the role. Perrelli, who currently serves as Executive Vice President at Sky Italia, is set to become the club’s new chief executive. The official announcement from the club is expected imminently.
Perrelli, born in 1968, will step into the position previously held by Lina Souloukou. This appointment marks the end of Roma’s executive search process, with an official statement anticipated in the coming hours.
Marzio Perrelli’s Professional Background
Perrelli’s career began in 1993 at Goldman Sachs in New York, where he distinguished himself in an elite analyst training program. He later moved to London, advancing to become head of the Italian desk. In 2001, he returned to Italy as CEO of Goldman Sachs Milan, achieving significant results in high-yield bond and financial markets.
From 2004, Perrelli spent over a decade at HSBC Bank Plc Italy, serving as Head of Global Banking and Markets and CEO. He led the bank’s activities in Export Finance and markets across Europe, Asia, and South America.
Philanthropic Endeavors and Recent Career
Perrelli co-founded the charity “Right to Play” in Switzerland, which operates in 20 countries, using sports to support child development. He also served on the Honor Committee for Rome’s bid to host the 2022 Ryder Cup.
Since 2018, Perrelli has been Executive Vice President at Sky Italia, overseeing Sky Sport. In this role, he has been responsible for editorial teams, production, and sports rights management, marking his transition from international finance to the media and sports sector.
