Massimo Donati, who previously played for Atalanta and Celtic, has provided his perspective on the recent developments at his former club. In a recent interview, he highlighted the impressive growth of Ademola Lookman and the untapped potential of Nicolò Zaniolo.

According to Donati, Lookman has experienced a significant breakthrough in his career. “Lookman is an extraordinary player,” Donati remarked. “His most notable improvement has been in recognizing his own abilities. Once a player reaches this level of self-awareness, they become unstoppable.”

Regarding Zaniolo, who has recently scored crucial goals for Atalanta, Donati believes there is still room for growth. “Zaniolo has more to accomplish, but he needs to fully grasp his capabilities. He’s close to finding the right approach,” Donati explained.

When questioned about Atalanta’s prospects for winning the Serie A title this season, Donati expressed optimism. “Why not? They have the potential to maintain their position at the top for an extended period,” he stated. “The team now has more than 11 starting-caliber players, and they’re achieving this success even without key players like Scalvini and Scamacca.”

Donati also noted that the departure of Koopmeiners hasn’t negatively impacted the team. “They have a robust structure that allows them to handle significant player transfers effectively,” he concluded.
