Filippo Scotti: Milan’s Rising Star Poised for First Team Debut

Milan manager Fonseca is considering promoting another young talent from the Primavera squad. Following the debuts of Jimenez and Liberali in the recent match against Genoa, the Portuguese coach is now eyeing Filippo Scotti, an 18-year-old striker born in 2006, for a potential first-team call-up against Verona.

Scotti, who recently celebrated his 18th birthday, has impressed in the youth ranks with 3 goals and 4 assists in 14 Primavera appearances, plus one goal and two assists in the Youth League. A right-footed center-forward, Scotti is versatile enough to play on either wing in a three-man attack when needed.

The young striker has progressed through Milan’s youth system and represented Italy at various youth levels from U16 to U19. Milan holds high hopes for Scotti’s future, considering him one of the top prospects in their academy.

Scotti’s talent was evident from his early days at Milan. Roberto Bortuzzo, a veteran youth coach at the club, was immediately impressed by the youngster’s superior technique and speed, declaring, “This boy isn’t leaving Milan.”

While it’s unlikely that Scotti will start against Verona, he may be included in the squad due to injuries to Musah and Okafor. If called up, he would join other promising talents like Liberali and Camarda on the bench. Meanwhile, Jimenez, another young player, is expected to retain his starting position following a strong performance against Genoa.
