This year’s selection process involved over 21,000 professional footballers casting their votes from an initial shortlist of 26 nominees.
Notably absent from the final lineup are Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, now playing for Inter Miami, and Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr. Despite their legendary status, neither made the cut in this year’s selection.
The FIFPro World 11 for the 2023/24 season is as follows:
Goalkeeper: Ederson (Manchester City, Brazil)
Defenders: Daniel Carvajal (Real Madrid, Spain), Antonio Rüdiger (Real Madrid, Germany), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool, Netherlands)
