FIFA Imposes Transfer Ban on Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca Until 2026
FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on Spanish clubs Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca, preventing them from signing new players until 2026. The international governing body of football announced this decision in a report listing various clubs penalized for violating FIFA regulations.
According to the report published on FIFA’s official website, the sanctioned clubs will be unable to register new players for the next three transfer windows. Interestingly, CF La Solana, a team from the Castilla-La Mancha region, is also included in the list of penalized clubs.
MARCA reports that both Mallorca and Rayo Vallecano were caught off guard by this announcement. Mallorca claims it’s “an administrative issue that has already been resolved” and denies the three-window transfer ban. Rayo Vallecano, on the other hand, was unaware of the sanction and did not anticipate it, according to the Madrid-based newspaper.
It remains to be seen how this situation will unfold – whether it’s indeed an administrative matter as Mallorca suggests, or if both clubs will need to appeal the decision if the sanctions are not lifted. The coming days should provide more clarity on the issue and its potential impact on the clubs’ transfer strategies.
Apart from these two La Liga teams, the presence of CF La Solana on the list is noteworthy. The team, which plays in the Preferente category of Castilla-La Mancha, will also be unable to register new players for the next three transfer windows, according to the FIFA report.
