Fantasy Premier League Chips: A Complete Guide for 2024/25

Fantasy Premier League Chips: A Complete Guide for 2024/25

As a Fantasy Premier League manager, you have several tools at your disposal to boost your performance throughout the season. These include chips that can be used strategically to maximize your points haul. For the 2024/25 season, a brand new Assistant Manager chip has been introduced to add another layer of strategy.

This guide covers all the chips available in FPL and how to use them effectively:

Bench Boost

The Bench Boost chip allows you to earn points from your substitutes for one gameweek. This can be extremely valuable during double gameweeks when you have more players with multiple fixtures. Activate it when you have a strong bench lined up with favorable matchups.

Free Hit

Free Hit lets you make unlimited free transfers for a single gameweek before reverting to your original squad. It’s ideal for navigating tricky fixture weeks or capitalizing on teams with multiple games. Use it wisely to field the optimal lineup for that specific round.

Triple Captain

As the name suggests, Triple Captain triples your captain’s points for one gameweek instead of doubling them. Save this for when your top player has great fixtures or a double gameweek to maximize its impact. Popular choices include prolific scorers like Erling Haaland.

Wildcard

The Wildcard chip allows unlimited free transfers to completely overhaul your squad. You get two per season – one before December 30th and one after. Use them to address multiple issues in your team or to shift your overall strategy.

Assistant Manager (New for 2024/25)

This new chip lets you select a Premier League manager to earn you bonus points over three gameweeks. Managers are priced between £0.5m-£1.5m and score points for wins, clean sheets, and goals. Use it strategically in the second half of the season to gain an edge in your mini-leagues.

Mastering when and how to use these chips can make a huge difference in your FPL performance. Plan ahead, watch for double gameweeks, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks for big point hauls. Good luck!
