Fabregas Hints at Possible Training Opportunity for Dele Alli at Como

Once hailed as British football’s brightest prospect, Dele Alli’s career has taken a dramatic downturn in recent years. The talented midfielder, who once commanded a market value of 100 million, burst onto the scene with MK Dons before catching the eye of Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur. His meteoric rise in London propelled him to global football stardom. However, his fall from grace was equally swift, as he gradually lost his place in the Spurs lineup and endured a series of unsuccessful loan spells.

Now at 28, Alli finds himself without a club. In this challenging situation, Como, the Italian club where Cesc Fabregas plays, has emerged as a potential lifeline for the technically gifted player to salvage what remains of his once-promising career.

After his contract with Everton expired last June, Alli has been training with his former club but his future clearly lies elsewhere. Speculation arose when he was spotted at a Serie A match between Como and Roma. Following the game, Fabregas addressed the situation, stating: “I don’t want to say too much, but there might be a chance for Dele to start training with us after Christmas. For now, it would just be to help him regain fitness, nothing more.”

According to reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Alli will begin training with Como. If the coaching staff is impressed with what they see, there’s a possibility he could join the Italian club as a free agent. This opportunity could be crucial for Alli to reignite his career and potentially work towards his stated goal of playing in the 2026 World Cup.

Despite a challenging period at Everton, including an intermittent spell and a loan to Besiktas, Como could provide the ideal environment for Alli to rediscover his best form. While his recent performances may not inspire immediate confidence, this move to Italy might just be the fresh start Alli needs to revive his once-promising career.
