Everton Shows Interest in Prolific Striker Targeted by West Ham
Everton has reportedly made an inquiry about AS Monaco forward Breel Embolo, who is also drawing interest from West Ham United. The Toffees are exploring options to bolster their attacking lineup, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at the club uncertain.
Calvert-Lewin recently ended his goal drought in Everton’s 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, impressing manager David Moyes with his performance as a traditional center-forward. However, with the English striker’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Everton is considering alternative options.
Embolo, a 27-year-old Swiss international, has a proven track record in top European leagues and competitions. He has consistently delivered impressive goal contributions over the past several seasons in both the Bundesliga and Ligue 1. Despite missing much of the current season due to injury, Embolo has returned strongly, scoring three goals in his last five appearances for Monaco.
Known for his powerful presence and intelligent off-ball movement, Embolo could provide Everton with a different dimension in attack. His experience in the Champions League and Europa League could also prove valuable as the Toffees look to strengthen their squad.
While Como is reportedly leading the race for Embolo’s signature, Everton’s inquiry suggests they are seriously considering the striker as an option. With Monaco potentially open to sanctioning Embolo’s departure this winter, a move to the Premier League could be on the cards for the talented forward.
As the January transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Everton will pursue Embolo more aggressively or explore other attacking options to complement their current strike force.
