Empoli Loses Defender to Injury Ahead of Atalanta Fixture

Empoli has suffered a blow ahead of their Serie A match against Atalanta, with defender Mattia Viti ruled out due to injury. The young center-back experienced discomfort in his left adductor during warm-ups, forcing manager Roberto D’Aversa to make a late change to his starting lineup.

To compensate for Viti’s absence, Cacace will move into the back three, while Grassi joins the midfield. This injury adds to Empoli’s defensive woes, as they were already without Mattia De Sciglio.

The match kicks off at 18:00 local time, with both teams looking to secure valuable points in the Serie A standings. Atalanta will aim to capitalize on their home advantage, while Empoli hopes their adjusted formation can withstand the pressure.

Starting Lineups

Atalanta (3-4-1-2): Carnesecchi; Kossounou, Djimsiti, Kolasinac; Bellanova, Pasalic, Ederson, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere; Retegui, Lookman
Manager: Gian Piero Gasperini

Empoli (3-5-2): Vasquez; Goglichidze, Ismajli, Cacace; Gyasi, Anjorin, Henderson, Grassi, Pezzella; Esposito, Colombo
