Del Piero Weighs in on Juventus Youth and Cambiaso’s Future

In a recent interview with Football Italia, former Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero shared his thoughts on the club’s current situation and transfer market prospects, particularly regarding Andrea Cambiaso.

Del Piero praised Juventus for their focus on young talent, stating, “They’ve done an excellent job bringing in many young players who have the potential to perform well and make their mark in Juventus’ history.” He emphasized the importance of having a strong team in all positions to win trophies.

Discussing the Juventus Next Gen program, Del Piero expressed his hope that more Italian clubs would adopt similar models. He highlighted the benefits of having a seamless transition between the academy and the first team.

Regarding Andrea Cambiaso’s potential move to Manchester City, Del Piero said, “It could be a good solution for both parties. Cambiaso has made significant progress and become an important player, even for the national team. That’s why Manchester City is interested in him.” However, he added that only Cambiaso could make the final decision, considering factors such as Juventus’ current position and Manchester City’s ongoing legal issues.

Reflecting on the national team, Del Piero emphasized that playing for Italy is a privilege that must be earned. He expressed optimism about the current crop of young Italian players and hoped for continued development in this area.
