David Alaba Returns to Real Madrid Squad After Year-Long Absence

Real Madrid’s defender David Alaba has been included in the team’s squad for the Spanish Super Cup semi-final match against Mallorca, as announced by the Madrid club’s press service.

The 32-year-old Austrian has not played for over a year. The defender suffered an injury in December 2023 during Real Madrid’s match against Villarreal (4:1). Alaba was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which also affected the meniscus.

Real Madrid is set to face Mallorca on Thursday, January 9th. The match will kick off at 22:00 Moscow time. The game will take place at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
