Coppa Italia Quarterfinal Matchups Set: Milan to Face Roma, Lazio Awaits Inter
The Coppa Italia quarterfinal bracket is taking shape following Wednesday’s Round of 16 matches. Three of the four quarterfinal pairings are now confirmed:
- AC Milan will host AS Roma at San Siro
- Bologna will welcome Atalanta
- Juventus will take on Empoli at home
The final quarterfinal spot will be filled by Lazio, who defeated Napoli 3-1. They await the winner of Thursday’s Inter vs Udinese match.
In Wednesday’s action, Atalanta cruised past Serie B side Cesena with a dominant 6-1 victory. Roma also advanced by defeating Sampdoria 4-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, with Artem Dovbyk scoring twice.
With these results, no Serie B teams remain in the competition. Roma, currently 12th in Serie A, are now the lowest-ranked side left in the Coppa Italia.
The quarterfinal matches are scheduled to take place in February. The competition provides an opportunity for Italy’s top clubs to claim silverware and earn a spot in next season’s Europa League.
