Chelsea Prepare to Sell £10 Million Per Year Trio in January

Chelsea are reportedly planning to offload three midfielders during the January transfer window, as manager Enzo Maresca looks to streamline his squad. According to recent reports, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Cesare Casadei could all be on their way out of Stamford Bridge.

Despite Chelsea’s strong start to the season, which sees them just two points behind league leaders Liverpool, Maresca is keen to trim his squad. The Italian manager has downplayed title talk, insisting the team still has room for improvement.

Dewsbury-Hall, who only joined Chelsea in the summer from Leicester City, has yet to start a Premier League game for the Blues. He finds himself behind Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia in the pecking order.

Chukwuemeka and Casadei have also seen limited playing time this season. Chelsea are now reportedly open to selling all three midfielders, who collectively earn around £188,000 per week – approximately £10 million per year.

While permanent transfers may prove challenging due to wage demands and Chelsea’s desire to recoup their initial £60 million investment in the trio, the club is also considering loan deals to facilitate their departures. All three players have reportedly attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

As Chelsea continue to push for a top-four finish and potentially challenge for the title, Maresca’s willingness to let these players go suggests he has a clear vision for his ideal squad composition. The January window could prove crucial in shaping Chelsea’s midfield for the remainder of the season and beyond.
