Chelsea Eye “Monster” Striker as Jackson Competition
Chelsea are reportedly looking to bolster their attacking options by targeting FC Nurnberg’s 18-year-old striker Stefanos Tzimas. The Greek forward has impressed in Germany this season, scoring 7 goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.
According to reports, Chelsea view Tzimas as a potential complement to current striker Nicolas Jackson. At 6 feet tall with a strong frame, Tzimas could provide a different profile up front compared to the more mobile Jackson.
Talent scout Jacek Kulig has labeled Tzimas a “natural-born killer” and “true monster” in front of goal. His physical presence and clinical finishing have drawn comparisons to Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
While Jackson has performed well as Chelsea’s main striker this season with 9 goals in 16 appearances, manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add more firepower to his squad. Tzimas’ ability to bully defenders and get touches in dangerous areas (7.55 per 90 mins in the box) could give Chelsea a useful Plan B option up front.
The young Greek striker also shows promise in his all-round game, averaging more progressive passes and carries per 90 minutes than Jackson so far this season. At just 18, Tzimas has significant room for development and could push Jackson for the starting spot if he continues to progress.
With Chelsea reportedly willing to pay around £18-19 million for Tzimas, he represents a relatively low-risk investment in a promising young talent. His arrival could give Pochettino more tactical flexibility and ensure healthy competition for places in Chelsea’s attack.
