Carlo Ancelotti Wins FIFA Best Men’s Coach Award for 2024
Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has been honored with the FIFA Best Men’s Coach award for 2024, further cementing his status as one of football’s most successful coaches. The prestigious accolade was presented at a ceremony in Doha, marking the first time this particular FIFA award has been given.
Ancelotti’s triumph comes after a remarkable season with Real Madrid, during which he led the team to victories in the Champions League, La Liga, and the Spanish Super Cup. The team also secured the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-0 win over Atalanta in August.
The experienced coach beat out strong competition from Pep Guardiola, Xabi Alonso, Luis de la Fuente, and Lionel Scaloni to claim the award. The selection process involved votes from national team coaches, captains, football journalists, and fans.
In addition to Ancelotti’s success, Real Madrid’s star player Vinicius Junior was named FIFA Best Men’s Player for 2024. Unlike his decision to boycott the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Vinicius attended this event to receive his award.
FIFA also announced its Best XI for 2024, which notably did not include any players from Italy’s Serie A. The team consists of:
FIFA Best XI 2024: Martinez; Carvajal, Rudiger, Dias, Saliba; Bellingham, Rodri, Kroos; Yamal, Haaland, Vinicius
This latest achievement adds to Ancelotti’s already impressive collection of accolades, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most accomplished managers in football history.
