Capello’s Analysis of Serie A Title Contenders
Renowned football manager Fabio Capello recently shared his views on the current Serie A title race, which sees Atalanta, Napoli, and Inter Milan as the main contenders.
Regarding Napoli’s performance, Capello noted, “All the top teams won their matches, but with considerable difficulty. Napoli had an excellent first half against Genoa, but Meret’s crucial saves in the second half secured their three points. These are important signs, as winning when under pressure boosts morale and team unity.”
On Inter Milan, Capello remarked, “They weren’t as sharp or aggressive as usual, but their victory was deserved. Despite Lautaro’s goal drought, Inzaghi remains the frontrunner for the Scudetto.”
Discussing Atalanta, he observed, “After winning the Europa League, Atalanta seems to have a renewed spirit and strength in pursuing victories. Winning changes your mentality.”
Capello was less impressed with Juventus, stating, “They finally managed to win in Monza, but I’m not entirely convinced. They had a good first half with Koopmeiners performing well in midfield, but in the last 20-25 minutes, they resorted to defending deep in their own penalty area. I expected a somewhat different approach.”
