Bove Set to Return to Stadio Franchi for First Time Since Medical Incident

Fiorentina’s Edoardo Bove is scheduled to be present at the Stadio Franchi for Monday’s match against Udinese, marking his first return to the stadium since experiencing a serious medical emergency on December 1.

The 22-year-old midfielder collapsed during a Serie A match against Inter, suffering a brief cardiac arrest on the field. He was quickly revived and transported to a local hospital, where he underwent tests and had a defibrillator implanted.

Since the incident, Bove has been gradually recovering. He recently visited his teammates at the Viola Park training facility, but Monday’s match will be his first time back at the Stadio Franchi.

Prior to his medical emergency, Bove, who is on loan from Roma with an option to buy, had been a key player for Fiorentina this season. He had scored one goal and provided four assists in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Under current Serie A regulations, Bove is not permitted to play with an implanted defibrillator. However, doctors have provided him with a removable device, potentially allowing for his return to the pitch in the future.

The young player’s presence at the stadium is expected to be an emotional moment for both Bove and the Fiorentina supporters, who have shown tremendous support throughout his recovery process.
