Barella’s Injury Update: Inter Midfielder Sidelined with Muscle Strain
Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella has undergone medical examinations to assess the injury he sustained during the team’s 6-0 victory against Lazio. The Italian international, who had delivered an outstanding performance including a spectacular goal, was forced to leave the pitch in the second half due to discomfort in his right thigh.
Initially postponing the tests due to positive sensations the day after, Barella ultimately decided to undergo examinations this morning as he was unable to train. The results confirmed a minor strain in the long adductor muscle.
The club released an official statement: “Nicolò Barella underwent an MRI scan this morning at the Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano. The tests revealed a slight elongation of the long adductor in the right thigh. His condition will be evaluated on a daily basis.”
While the injury is not severe, it will require some recovery time. Typically, such strains necessitate approximately one week of rest, though the exact timeline will depend on the player’s daily progress. Barella will miss today’s Coppa Italia match against Udinese and is unlikely to feature in the upcoming game against Como on December 23rd.
The midfielder’s return to action may be postponed until December 28th, when Inter faces Cagliari away in Barella’s home region of Sardinia. The match is scheduled for 6:00 PM local time.
