Barcelona Coach Flick Comments on Olmo and Victor Registration Situation
Barcelona’s head coach Hans-Dieter Flick has addressed the ongoing situation regarding the registration of midfielder Dani Olmo and forward Pau Victor for the second half of the season.
“As a coach, I need to communicate with all players. The absence of these players is challenging for us. However, we must move forward. Certainly, the current situation affects the team, but it also brings us closer together. We need to demonstrate that Barcelona is a united team,” Flick stated during a press conference before the Spanish Super Cup match against Athletic Bilbao.
Previously, it was reported that La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) had denied Barcelona’s request to register players for the latter half of the season. On January 1st, Barcelona submitted an application for new licenses for Olmo and Victor to the RFEF.
On January 8th, it was revealed that the Higher Sports Council (CSD) had granted Barcelona temporary permission to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second part of the season, according to Cadena Ser. The players will be able to participate for the team over the next three months while the CSD reviews the Catalan club’s case.
