AS Monaco Explores Striker Options Amid Injury Concerns
AS Monaco’s manager Adi Hütter has openly acknowledged the club’s search for a new striker during the January transfer window. This comes in the wake of Folarin Balogun’s shoulder injury, which has sidelined the 23-year-old USMNT forward for an estimated four months following surgery.
Hütter recently expressed the team’s intention to secure a striker on loan for the remainder of the season. French media outlet L’Équipe has suggested a potential move for Paris Saint-Germain’s out-of-favor forward Randal Kolo Muani, 26, who is expected to be available for transfer this month.
Addressing the speculation, Hütter stated in a press conference, “We’re actively monitoring the market for the best possible solutions. While winter transfers can be challenging, someone like Kolo Muani certainly sounds appealing. We need to find a player who can score goals, and there are many strikers across Europe who could potentially assist us.”
The Monaco manager, familiar with Kolo Muani from his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, added, “Kolo Muani is one profile we might consider, but there are numerous factors to weigh, including financial considerations. We’re committed to finding the right fit for our team through collaborative decision-making.”
As Monaco continues to evaluate its options, the club remains focused on strengthening its attacking lineup to maintain competitiveness in the league.
