Arsenal eyes £67m “goal machine” likened to Osimhen to enhance Odegaard’s game

Arsenal’s performance this season has fallen short of expectations. Unlike the previous two campaigns, Mikel Arteta’s squad has struggled to maintain consistency, failing to capitalize on Manchester City’s downturn and falling behind Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League standings.

A key factor in their early-season struggles was the absence of captain Martin Odegaard. However, even with his return, the team has faced difficulties scoring in recent matches.

Recent reports linking Arsenal to a striker compared to Victor Osimhen, who could potentially boost Odegaard’s effectiveness, should excite fans.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal is “looking at” Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. The club has reportedly scouted him in multiple games this season, and he is highly regarded by Arsenal’s staff.

While a specific price is not mentioned, GIVEMESPORT reported that Arsenal believes they can secure Vlahovic for less than the £67m Juventus demanded last summer.

The comparison to Osimhen stems from FBref’s player comparison system, which ranks the Nigerian as the seventh most similar forward to Vlahovic based on various performance metrics.

Vlahovic’s goalscoring record is impressive, with 49 goals and 8 assists in 108 appearances for Fiorentina, and 52 goals and 11 assists in 120 appearances for Juventus. This translates to a goal involvement every 1.90 games on average.

Such a prolific striker could significantly boost Odegaard’s assist tally and improve Arsenal’s overall attacking output. While Vlahovic may not come cheap, his potential impact on the team’s performance could make him a worthwhile investment for Arsenal as they aim to climb back up the Premier League table.
