Arsenal emerge as favorites to land Chelsea’s rising star in January
Arsenal have positioned themselves at the front of the queue to sign Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall when the transfer window opens in January. The Gunners are reportedly leading the chase for the talented 25-year-old ahead of as many as nine other clubs.
Dewsbury-Hall has struggled to break into Chelsea’s first team plans this season under Mauricio Pochettino. Despite impressing on loan at Leicester City last year, he has found opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his midfield options as the Gunners push for the Premier League title. Dewsbury-Hall’s energy, work rate and technical ability make him an attractive prospect for Arsenal’s high-intensity style of play.
While several other top flight clubs are monitoring the situation, including Tottenham, Newcastle and Manchester United, Arsenal are believed to be in pole position to secure Dewsbury-Hall’s signature. Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell for around £30 million – the same fee they paid Leicester to sign him in the summer.
A January move to the Emirates could provide Dewsbury-Hall with the platform to kickstart his career at the highest level. For Arsenal, he represents an exciting addition to their midfield ranks as they look to maintain their title challenge in the second half of the season.
