Arsenal could resolve Saka situation by acquiring £60m “unstoppable machine”
Arsenal’s season has hit a bump with the injury to star player Bukayo Saka. The young winger is expected to be out for several weeks, dealing a significant blow to the Gunners’ Premier League and Champions League ambitions. However, a potential solution may be found in Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
Saka has been instrumental for Arsenal this season, scoring 9 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions. His absence leaves a major void in the team’s attack. While finding a like-for-like replacement for such a talented player is challenging, Mbeumo could help fill the gap.
The 25-year-old Cameroonian international has been in excellent form for Brentford, netting 10 goals and 2 assists in just 17 Premier League appearances this season. His goal involvement rate of 0.70 per match is not far off Saka’s 0.93.
Mbeumo’s playing style is similar to Saka’s – he’s a left-footed attacker who primarily operates on the right wing. His proven Premier League experience and goal-scoring ability make him an attractive option for Arsenal.
While Brentford reportedly value Mbeumo at around £60 million, such an investment could be justified given Arsenal’s ambitions and the potential impact of Saka’s absence. Mbeumo not only offers short-term cover but could also provide quality competition across the forward line when Saka returns.
Although replacing Saka completely may be impossible, acquiring a player of Mbeumo’s caliber could help Arsenal maintain their attacking threat and keep their title aspirations alive. The “unstoppable machine”, as he’s been called, might just be the solution Arsenal needs in this crucial period.
