Arsenal Considers Signing Two Promising Olympiacos Players
Arsenal is reportedly considering making moves for two rising stars from Greek club Olympiacos. The Gunners’ recruitment team, led by interim sporting director Jason Ayto, has identified midfielder Christos Mouzakitis and forward Charalampos Kostoulas as potential targets.
According to reports, Arsenal sees an opportunity to acquire the talented youngsters at a reasonable price, as both players’ contracts with Olympiacos run until 2026. The North London club recently sent scouts to watch Mouzakitis and Kostoulas in action during Olympiacos’ Europa League match against FC Twente.
Mouzakitis, 18, has already earned a cap for the Greek national team and has impressed in a defensive midfield role for Olympiacos this season. He has made 16 appearances across all competitions despite his young age.
Kostoulas, also 18, is considered a highly promising forward prospect. He has recently broken into Olympiacos’ first team, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in his last 5 league appearances. His performances have caught the eye of Arsenal’s scouting team.
While Arsenal’s immediate focus is on improving their goal-scoring form in the Premier League, the potential signings of Mouzakitis and Kostoulas would be with an eye toward the future. Manager Mikel Arteta and the club’s leadership are keen to continue strengthening the squad with young talent as they aim to establish Arsenal as one of Europe’s elite teams.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make formal approaches for the Olympiacos duo, but their interest signals the club’s ongoing commitment to identifying and developing promising young players from across Europe.
