Antoine Kombouaré to Manage Nantes for Upcoming Cup Match

Reports indicate that Antoine Kombouaré will continue as manager of FC Nantes for their upcoming Coupe de France fixture against fourth division club La Jeane d’Arc de Drancy this weekend, despite speculation about his future.

Kombouaré’s position has been precarious in recent weeks, with club leadership reportedly dissatisfied with the team’s performances. Even a victory over rivals Stade Rennais was not enough to fully secure his role. A heavy 4-1 defeat to local competitors Stade Brestois seems to have pushed matters to a critical point.

Sources suggest Nantes has already begun exploring potential replacements for Kombouaré. One name frequently mentioned is Sérgio Conceição, who previously managed the club from 2016 to 2017. However, with several Premier League clubs also seeking new managers, securing Conceição’s services may prove challenging.

Another candidate reportedly under consideration is Habib Beye, who successfully led Red Star FC to promotion to Ligue 2 last season. For now, though, Kombouaré remains at the helm as Nantes prepares for their cup encounter.
