Amorim Should Consider Selling Man Utd Goalkeeper Whose Value Has Doubled Despite Poor Performances
Manchester United exited the Carabao Cup after a chaotic 4-3 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night. Despite United playing well overall, some players disappointed, including two of Erik ten Hag’s signings – Antony and Lisandro Martinez.
However, it was backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir who had the worst performance. The Turkish international, who has barely played since joining United, received harsh criticism for his showing against Spurs. He was at fault for multiple goals and struggled with his distribution, completing just 61% of his passes.
Interestingly, Bayindir’s market value has risen 100% since United signed him for £4.3 million in 2022. He is now valued at around £8.6 million according to Transfermarkt. Given this increase in value, new manager Ruben Amorim may consider cashing in on the error-prone keeper as he looks to reshape the squad.
With Bayindir reportedly wanting to leave in January anyway, selling the goalkeeper could be a sensible move for United. Despite limited opportunities, he has failed to impress when called upon. Amorim may decide it’s time to cut ties with this calamitous Ten Hag signing and reinvest the funds elsewhere to strengthen the team.
