Adani’s Worries: Juventus’ Struggles and Thiago Motta’s Tactical Approach
Lele Adani, a former Inter and Fiorentina defender turned respected TV pundit, recently shared his insights on Juventus’ current situation and Thiago Motta’s coaching philosophy. While Adani has long supported Motta’s ideas, he now believes they remain incomplete.
Adani pointed out a recurring issue: “Thiago’s most frequent statement is ‘we need to improve, starting with me.’ There’s a problem when you have everyone focused near the small box, yet someone scores against four defenders because no one challenges them. We’ve been witnessing these situations from Juventus over the past month.”
Regarding Juventus’ recent victory, Adani noted: “It appears Juventus scored from two set pieces, both resulting from inexplicably poor marking by Monza in the box. Such defensive lapses are rare at this level. Juventus essentially won due to those two plays.”
Adani concluded with a cautionary note: “While I support this type of preparation, player rotation, and Thiago Motta’s evolved game strategy, if it leads to uncertainty and indecision, I have to emphasize his most frequent comment: ‘we need to improve.'”
