AC Milan’s Okafor Sidelined Until 2025 Due to Calf Injury
AC Milan has been dealt another blow as forward Noah Okafor has sustained a calf injury that will keep him out of action until 2025. This setback adds to the club’s ongoing struggle with player injuries this season.
The Swiss international came on as a substitute during Milan’s goalless draw against Genoa at San Siro on Sunday. Following the match, medical examinations revealed a Grade I lesion in the soleus muscle of Okafor’s right leg.
The injury is essentially a calf strain, and Okafor’s condition will be reassessed in 10 days. This diagnosis effectively rules him out for the remainder of 2024, further depleting Milan’s attacking options.
This injury compounds Milan’s existing personnel issues, with several key players already sidelined. The club is currently without Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic, Ismael Bennacer, and Alessandro Florenzi due to various injuries.
Okafor has made 16 appearances for Milan this season across all competitions, contributing one goal and two assists. His absence will be felt as the team prepares to face Hellas Verona in their upcoming Serie A fixture at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The mounting injury list continues to pose challenges for Milan as they strive to maintain consistency in their performances and results. The club will need to rely on their depth and adaptability to navigate this difficult period successfully.
