AC Milan Supporters Stage Protest at Club’s 125th Anniversary Celebration
AC Milan’s ultras organized a heated demonstration outside the private event commemorating the club’s 125th anniversary, compelling club officials to enter through a concealed entrance.
Supporters were already displeased following the team’s disappointing 0-0 draw against Genoa the previous evening. The majority of their frustration is directed at President Gerry Cardinale, with fans displaying banners at San Siro urging him to sell the club, claiming he was “undeserving” of AC Milan’s legacy.
The protest continued at the anniversary event, with ultras placing banners outside that read: “Players lacking passion and honor, you perfectly embody these owners” and “Incompetent leadership, club without ambition. You don’t deserve our history.”
The situation became so tense that executives including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paolo Scaroni, and Cardinale were advised to use a side entrance to avoid confrontation with the crowd of ultras.
When coach Paulo Fonseca arrived and posed for photographs, the fans remained silent, primarily attributing blame to certain players and club owners for the team’s current struggles.
In contrast, young striker Francesco Camarda and club legends Franco Baresi and Pietro Paolo Virdis received applause from the gathered supporters.
This unprecedented protest at a private club event highlights the growing discontent among AC Milan’s fanbase with the team’s performance and current ownership structure.
