AC Milan Supporters Continue Protests at Verona Match
As the 17th round of Serie A kicked off at Verona’s Bentegodi stadium, AC Milan fans in the away section immediately made their voices heard. Continuing their recent protests, supporters directed chants at the club’s ownership and players.
Fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the current management, chanting “This club doesn’t deserve us” and “We are not Americans.” They specifically targeted RedBird Capital’s Gerry Cardinale with calls to “sell the club and leave.”
The players were not spared from criticism either. Supporters demanded better performances with explicit chants, expressing their frustration with the team’s recent form. These vocal protests continued throughout the first half and intensified at halftime.
This latest demonstration follows previous incidents, including jeers after the Milan-Genoa match and protests during the club’s 125th-anniversary celebration. Around 150 organized supporters had staged a peaceful protest then, voicing their disappointment with the season’s progress so far.
The renewed protests come as Gerry Cardinale and RedBird announced a refinancing agreement with Elliott, involving a €170 million investment to reduce loan obligations and extend the repayment deadline to July 2028.
