AC Milan Coach Paulo Fonseca Visits Juvenile Detention Facility
As part of AC Milan Foundation’s holiday activities, the team’s head coach Paulo Fonseca paid a visit to the Cesare Beccaria Juvenile Detention Center on the outskirts of Milan. The purpose was to meet with young people engaged in rehabilitation and resocialization programs.
After touring the facility, Fonseca participated in a discussion with the youth, focusing on values and drawing parallels between everyday life and the world of football. He emphasized, “In daily life, as in football, discipline and respect for rules are fundamental values for achieving our goals. It’s also crucial to realize we’re never alone, and seeking help when needed is not shameful, but a sign of great self-awareness.”
Following the talk, Fonseca went to the center’s five-a-side football pitch, where he led and took part in a training session with the young inmates.
This visit is part of a series of initiatives by AC Milan Foundation, which has also organized visits to hospitals in Milan and Lombardy. Players, both current and former, have surprised young patients in pediatric wards. Participants in these activities have included Francesco Camarda, Alessandro Florenzi, Matteo Gabbia, Christy Grimshaw, Marta Mascarello, Fikayo Tomori, and former Milan player Marco Borriello.
These efforts align with AC Milan Foundation’s commitment to social responsibility, working closely with the club to promote projects and fundraising campaigns. The goal is to concretely address the needs of local communities, strengthening ties with the area and fostering the development of charitable initiatives.
