Aston Villa Pursues €25m Greek Striker Alongside Malen Acquisition

Following the successful signing of Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund, Aston Villa has set its sights on another striking talent. The club has reportedly entered the competition to acquire Stefanos Tzimas, a promising 19-year-old forward currently on loan at FC Nurnberg from PAOK Salonika.

Villa’s interest in Tzimas comes as they aim to secure consecutive top-four finishes in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League. The potential addition of Tzimas would provide manager Unai Emery with increased attacking depth, complementing recent arrival Malen and existing forwards Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Aston Villa faces competition from Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion for Tzimas’s signature. The Greek striker’s price tag is reported to be €25 million (£21 million) plus additional bonuses, with a transfer likely to materialize in the upcoming summer window.

Tzimas has impressed during his loan spell in Germany’s second division, netting eight goals and providing two assists in 15 appearances across all competitions this season. His performances have caught the eye of talent scouts, with some labeling him as “one of the most interesting young strikers in Europe” with an “exciting future ahead.”

The pursuit of Tzimas raises questions about the future of current Villa striker Jhon Duran, who has been linked with a move to West Ham United. Should Duran depart, Tzimas could serve as an ideal replacement to bolster Villa’s attacking options.

As Aston Villa continues to strengthen its squad in pursuit of European football, the potential addition of Stefanos Tzimas represents an exciting prospect for the club’s future ambitions.
