Calhanoglu Reaffirms Loyalty to Inter Milan

In a candid interview, Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu opened up about his deep connection to the club and his future aspirations. The Turkish international, who joined Inter from city rivals AC Milan in 2021, expressed his desire to finish his career with the Nerazzurri.

“Inter has been a transformative experience for me,” Calhanoglu stated. “Moving from Milan was challenging, but I’ve always admired Inter. From day one, it’s been an extraordinary journey that has shaped me into the player I am today.”

When asked about interest from Bayern Munich last summer, Calhanoglu revealed his unwavering commitment to Inter: “I immediately told my agent to speak only with Inter. This club and its people have always supported me. Sporting Director Ausilio has been crucial in my development both professionally and personally.”

The midfielder also praised coach Simone Inzaghi for his role in his career evolution: “Inzaghi saw my qualities and had the insight to transform me from a midfielder to a playmaker. It was a turning point in my career.”

Looking ahead, Calhanoglu shared his ambitions for Inter: “We’ve become strong through hard work and sacrifice. We’re aware we can compete with anyone in the Champions League. My dream is to win it wearing the Inter shirt.”

As for his post-playing career, Calhanoglu hinted at potential roles in management: “I’m considering becoming either a coach or a sporting director, with the latter being more appealing at the moment.”
