Sevilla’s Sports Director Declines Spartak Moscow’s Offer
Sevilla FC has confirmed that their sports director, Victor Orta, has rejected an offer from Spartak Moscow. The Spanish club’s press service responded to inquiries about Orta being a priority candidate for a similar position at the Russian club.
“Victor wishes to remain with Sevilla, despite receiving an attractive offer [from Spartak Moscow],” the club’s press service stated. “He is committed to continuing his project here at our club.”
This development comes as Spartak Moscow looks to strengthen its management team. The Russian club currently sits in third place in the Russian Premier League standings, with 37 points at the conclusion of the autumn-winter part of the season. Krasnodar and Zenit St. Petersburg are tied for first place with 39 points each.
Orta’s decision to stay with Sevilla demonstrates his loyalty to the Spanish club and his desire to see through the plans he has set in motion. This news may prompt Spartak Moscow to explore other options as they seek to bolster their sporting leadership.
