Aston Villa Preparing £25m Bid for AC Milan Defender Fikayo Tomori
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is reportedly looking to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window, with AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori emerging as a top target. While Villa’s first team appears strong overall, Emery is keen to add depth in defense, particularly at center-back.
According to reports, Villa are preparing a £25 million bid for Tomori, who has impressed since joining Milan from Chelsea in 2021. The 27-year-old England international has made over 150 appearances for the Italian club, helping them win the Serie A title in 2021/22.
Tomori’s potential arrival could mirror Villa’s successful signing of Morgan Rogers, who has flourished since joining from Manchester City. Like Rogers, Tomori left a top Premier League club to further his development elsewhere and could now return to England as a more complete player.
With his experience in Serie A and the Champions League, Tomori would bring valuable qualities to Villa’s backline. His passing ability and defensive skills have drawn praise, with AC Milan legend Franco Baresi describing him as “skilful.”
While competition from Newcastle and West Ham is expected, Villa appear determined to land Tomori as Emery looks to build a squad capable of challenging on multiple fronts. The January window opens soon, giving Villa fans hope of seeing an exciting new defensive addition arrive at Villa Park.
