Serie A Standings After Round 17: Atalanta Leads, Inter Close Behind
As the Serie A season reaches its midway point, Atalanta finds themselves atop the table heading into the brief holiday break. However, Inter Milan remains in hot pursuit, just three points back with a game in hand.
The league will resume shortly after Christmas, with Matchday 18 fixtures scheduled for December 28-30. Atalanta’s impressive run of 11 consecutive victories has propelled them to first place, two points clear of Napoli.
Further down the table, Lazio has fallen off the pace while Juventus has caught up to Fiorentina. Bologna currently sits ahead of AC Milan in the European qualification spots.
At the bottom, Monza occupies last place after parting ways with manager Alessandro Nesta. Venezia pulled off a surprise victory over Cagliari to climb out of the relegation zone. The battle to avoid the drop remains extremely tight, with just three points separating seven teams near the bottom of the standings.
