Leon Fust Shares Insights on Training with Bayern Munich Stars
Leon Fust, a new signing for FC Kuban, recently shared his experiences of training alongside Bayern Munich’s star players during his time with the club’s academy.
When asked about which Bayern Munich player he found most approachable, Fust highlighted Joshua Kimmich. “Despite the age difference, Kimmich was always ready to offer helpful advice during training sessions,” Fust explained. “I felt comfortable asking him for guidance, and we could communicate on equal terms. As for his playing abilities, it’s widely known that he’s a top-class footballer.”
Fust also mentioned Robert Lewandowski as a particularly memorable figure. “Lewandowski lives for scoring goals – it’s his sole focus in both matches and training,” Fust recalled. “During practice games, he always demanded that passes be directed to him. I imagine it’s the same now at Barcelona; Lewandowski loves to rack up goals.”
Reflecting on his experience as one of the youngest players in Bayern Munich’s training sessions, Fust emphasized the strict discipline maintained at all levels of the club. “I don’t remember any instances of pushing or fighting during academy training sessions,” he stated. “Yes, there was intense physical contact during first-team practice games, but it never crossed the line into roughness or disrespect. No one ever tried to intimidate or belittle me.”
Fust’s insights offer a glimpse into the professional environment at one of Europe’s top football clubs, highlighting the mix of competitiveness and mutual respect among players of different ages and experience levels.
