Newcastle United Target Southampton Prodigy Tyler Dibling in Potential Livramento-Style Deal
Newcastle United are reportedly looking to replicate their successful signing of Tino Livramento by pursuing another talented young player from Southampton – forward Tyler Dibling.
Livramento has been a revelation for Newcastle since joining from Southampton in 2022, quickly establishing himself as a first-team regular at right-back. The 22-year-old’s performances have even earned him a call-up to the England senior squad.
Now, Newcastle appear keen to repeat that success by targeting 17-year-old Dibling. The teenage forward has been a bright spot in Southampton’s difficult Championship campaign so far.
Former Premier League player Danny Murphy recently praised Dibling on Match of the Day, saying: “He has exceptional quality, self-belief and physical power. He glides past opponents effortlessly and has great decision-making for his age. While it’s early days, he looks set to become something special.”
Dibling has made 15 appearances for Southampton this season, scoring once. He averages 4.27 progressive carries and 3.48 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes played.
With just 18 months left on his current £5,000-per-week contract, Dibling could potentially be available for transfer next summer if Southampton fail to gain promotion back to the Premier League.
Newcastle are said to be “monitoring his progress” as part of their strategy to give opportunities to young English talents. If a deal materializes, it could help address Newcastle’s need for reinforcements on the right wing.
While a January move seems unlikely, Newcastle may view Dibling as an ideal long-term investment to follow in Livramento’s footsteps on Tyneside. The club’s ability to develop young players could make St James’ Park an attractive destination for the promising forward.
